How to care for your pal
- Real axolotls need cold water. Yours needs a coaster at most.
- Gills are delicate — handle the body, not the frilly bits.
- Store the loose axolotl inside the cave when travelling so it doesn't wander off in your bag.
- If it gets grubby, a damp cloth and a gentle pat dry does the job.
Where this pal came from
Our axolotl came out of a late-night request from a kid at a live show who wanted 'the smiling one.' We printed one. Then twelve. Now it's a whole garden.
Every pal ships with a printed origin story card so you know exactly who made it, where it was printed, and what it's been up to.

Every Desk Pal is available as an animal-only adoption ($35, or $45 for the magnetic chameleon) or as a complete habitat set. If you adopt the animal first and fall in love (you will), you can add the habitat later — you only pay the difference, not the full set price.
To upgrade, email info@busyhands3d.com with your original order number and which habitat you'd like. We'll send a payment link for the difference plus one shipping charge for the habitat pieces — your pal's adoption papers stay valid.
